Arrival at the airport of Denpasar of Bali with flight … at …. You will be picked up from the airport and we will bring you to Candidasa, a nice quiet village and not yet that touristic. The place has beautiful beaches and landscapes. Candidasa is a pleasant place to relax after your long journey. 2 nights in Genggong Hotel (type: superior / bungalow) in Candidasa.
Candidasa – own program. This day you can stay at the beach and relax or make trips in the surroundings. If you want to make excursions from Candidasa, there are several options. These trips you can arrange on the spot. With a taxi you can visit the places below.
Attractions near Candidasa (optional)
Around 20 kilometre from Candidasa is the famous Tirta Gangga Water Palace, a sacred place for Balinese Hindus. The Water Palace is a mix of Balinese and Chinese architecture with many fountains and beautiful pools where often sacred ceremonies are held. The palace was constructed in 1948 by the last King of Karangasem. It is a unique place of Balinese culture.
Another excursion you can make from Candidasa is in the direction to Denpasar. Here you can visit the unique Bamboo project named Rumah Bambu Pengalon build for the Bali Unite Festival, in Desa Antiga. Initially planned as the venue for a music festival, Bali Unite. Rumah Bambu Pengalon bamboo houses are really worth visiting.
Also fascinating from an architectural point of view is a trip to Charly’s Chocolate Factory. The Chocolate Factory is just as Rumah Bambu Pengalon an impressive bamboo construction and only 15 minutes away from Candidasa. Really something special!
For the sportive hiker there are fine walks you can make along rice fields. During the walks you have beautiful views and you will pass through picturesque traditional Balinese villages with friendly residents. You can book these walks on the spot in your hotel.
Kanto Lampo waterfall
Candidasa – Ubud. Today you depart for Ubud. Enroute you visit the impressive Kanto Lampo waterfall. In the afternoon you arrive in Ubud, the cultural centre of Bali. 2 nights in hotel Bali Spirit (type: emerald room) or Ubud Wana (type: wana garden)
Ubud excursion. Today we will bring you on day 4 to the Ubud Monkey Forest with countless small apes. After that you will make an excursion to two famous temples, Tirta Empul and Tanah Lot. Tirta Empul is one of the largest and busiest water temples in Indonesia, dating back to the 10th century. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of water. The name of the temple means ‘holy water spring’ in Balinese. Hereafter you continue to the famous 16th century sea temple Tanah Lot, one of Bali’s most photographed temples.
Ubud is a very artistic town, famous for its art galleries. Here lived in the first half of the twentieth century the Russian born German primitivist painter Walter Spies, who was already famous in Europe and moved to Ubud in the 1920s. Another well known painter was the Dutch Rudolf Bonnet who came to Bali in the 1930s and founded the Ubud Painters’ Group and the famous Neka art museum. Both painters were important for developing Ubud as a cultural centre. If you want see galleries or buy a painting, Ubud is the place on Bali.

Things to do in Ubud
Besides art galleries there are many other artistic crafts you can see in Ubud, like silver works, woodcarving, scuptures and jewelries. You can also learn skills like painting, jewellery making, batik and cooking classes of authentic Indonesian cuisine. Ubud is the ultimate place on Bali for art lovers. Then there is the yoga experience. In Ubud are many yoga classes, definitely one suited for you.
For those who want to stay longer in Ubud and have more time you can undertake other activities like hiking. The sportive hiker can take walks around Ubud, for instance the beautiful Campuhan Ridge hike. You will have lovely views of rice fields and make a nice walk down into a valley.
Cycling is another attraction in Ubud. You can book a cycling tour at your hotel. You will be brought uphill and you cycle relaxed downhill with beautiful views all the way overlooking the volcano Mount Batur and passing through picturesque villages and rice fields.
In the evening there are often traditional dance performances like the Barong, Kecak and Legong dance. The most dramatic dance is the Kecak. For this dance many sarong dressed men make the sounds of haunting chants, while dancers recreate a story from the Ramayana.
Also are there often musical performances in Ubud and in café’s and restaurants is often live music. As you see, Ubud has much to offer, we cannot mention it all.
Ubud – Pemuteran.
On this day we bring you from Ubud to Pemuteran. On the way you will pay a visit to the Alas Kedaton Temple and another Monkey Forest. You will also stop at the Bedugul market, the Pura Ulun Danu temple and drive via beautiful rice fields at Munduk to Pemuteran, a laid back village which became more popular in recent years. Pemuteran is near to Lovina and West Bali National Park.
Pemuteran is the top place for diving. It is home to the largest artificial Biorock reef project in the world which is a real spirit of marine conservation effort in this area and it received world wide approval. Bio-Rock is a technology that uses low voltage electrical current on artificial underwater structures to encourage growth of corals and other reef life and it has showed that it affected coral growth effectively. With Menjangan Island and the award winning Biorock project, Pemuteran Bay is probably the best spot for diving and snorkelling in Bali. The sea is free of currents and offers a safe and fascinating opportunity to explore the underwater reefs. You stay for 3 nights in hotel Adi Assri (type: deluxe premium) or Taman Sari Bali Cottages (type: studio) in Pemuteran.
West Bali National Park
Pemuteran – Jungle trekking in West Bali National park. Besides diving and snorkeling is the West Bali National Park an attraction you can visit from Pemuteran. In the park you see savanna and also some mangrove forest. The long extinct active volcanoes, Mount Patas and Mount Merbuk, in the protected reserve area to the east, dominate the landscape. The West Bali National Park is fascinating for bird lovers. Around 160 species of birds live in the park, including the near extinct Bali Starling. Also bigger animals like the Banteng, a species of wild cattle as well as the Javan deer live here. Menjangan Island of the coast of Pemuteran, is in fact named after these (Menjangan means deer in Bahasa Indonesia). In the park also live wild boar and Leopard cats but they are hard to encounter. The excursion to the West Bali National Park takes approximately 3 hours. You start at 7 o’clock in the morning and be back around noon in your hotel. During this excursion you will also pay a visit to the beautiful temple complexes Jayaprana and Layon Sari
Pemuteran – own program, no transport.
Pemuteran- Denpasar airport. The last day we bring you back to the airport of Bali for the flight to your next destination. End of your individual cultural Bali trip.
