5 days Jogyakarta - Borobudur - Solo - Prambanan - Dieng plateau
- Day 1
- Jogyakarta - Shadow Puppet Show
Upon your arrival at Adi Sucipto Airport, directly transfer to hotel. An
interesting tour to Kota Gede, centre of silverworks, Batik homeindustry,
Kasongan (popularly known for its artistic pottery ad earthenware) and
Gedhongkiwo to see leather puppet show spoken in old Javanese language
which will be translated by the guide. The show has its own meaning of
arts, life style, traditions and jokes.
- Day 2
- Jogyakarta - City and Borobudur
Breakfast at hotel. An interesting visit to Sultan Palace, built in 1755
which is at present still the bulwark of Javanese culture and tradition.
Then proceed to Borobudur temple, built in the 8th. Century. Nearby are
Mendut and Pawon temple. Lunch at local restaurant.
- Day 3
- Jogyakarta - Solo - Prambanan Tour
Breakfast at hotel. A nice drive to Solo, the sister city of Yogyakarta
will bring us to Susuhunan and Mangkunegaran Palace. See the heirlooms of
traditions inherited from the old Javanese Kingdom Majapahit. Then proceed
to Pasar Klewer, Java's wellknown textile market and flea market. On the
way back to Jogyakarta,`we will stop at Prambanan Temple, the beautiful
Hindu Temple.
- Day 4
- Jogyakarta - Dieng Tour
Breakfast at hotel. Starting early in the morning, we will drive northwest
of Jogyakarta passing through green terraced rice fields, waving coconut
leaves and lovely mountain scenery. Stop at Hindu temples on the Dieng
Plateau built in the 7th century. Kawah Sikidang to see the bubbling mud
and the colourful lake Telaga Warna. Lunch will be served at Wonosobo.
- Day 5
- Jogyakarta - Departure
Breakfast at hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure until you are
picked up and transfer to airport for your next destination.
