Tri Jaya tour & travel was established in 1991 by Diana Pardamean, who worked previously throughout Sumatra, as a Dutch and English speaking tour guide for many European and American guests. Since 1991 Diana Pardamean and her husband, the Dutch historian Dirk A. Buiskool and their capable and enthousiatic Indonesian staff, have developed their successful travel agency.

Diana Pardamean
I was born in 1962 in Padang Sidempuan and spent my youth in the nice old harbour-town of Sibolga on the Indian ocean. In 1968 we moved to Medan. In 1980, in the early years of American and European package-tour tourism to Sumatra, I started to work as a guide. From Dutch missionaries I learned the Dutch language and thereafter I also guided Dutch tourists. In 1991 we founded Tri Jaya tour and travel specializing in individual tailor-made programs for small groups.

Dirk Æ. Buiskool
Hoogezand Sappemeer in the Netherlands was my place of birth in 1957. After studying history at Groningen State University, I started in 1990 to work as a lecturer in European history at the University of North Sumatra in Medan. Besides lecturing I founded together with Diana, Tri Jaya tour and travel. For our guests we develop all kinds of special programs through unspoiled Sumatra and among these, historical tours. Therefore we wrote and published the book "Tours through historical Medan and its surroundings"
