Bukit Lawang at the Bohorok river

Above the wild streaming Bohorok river lies the village of Bukit Lawang.
Tracking is possible for a few hours. A trip lasting several days can also be arranged.

Uphill is the Orang Utan resort, a half hour climb. The resort is open to visitors twice a day , at 8 o'clock in the morning and at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The boatman brings you over the river in a small canoe.

After floodings caused by suddenly breaking of a clogging wooden log-dam in the river, the lower part of the village was destroyed a few years ago. A small hang-bridge gives passage to the other higher river-bank. Orang Utan family
